Active Employees

Welcome to the NYSHIP website, where you will find information on the New York State Health Insurance Program for State and Local Government for active employees.

To get started, you MUST select one of the following:

New York State Active Employee (NY)

I am an employee of the State of New York. This means I work for an agency within the New York State Government structure. (This includes Department of Transportation, Department of Civil Service and the Department of Taxation and Finance.)

Participating
Employer (PE)

I am an employee of a Participating Employer of New York State. This means my employer is a quasi-governmental agency in NY that is maintained and financed from special administrative funds. (This includes Metropolitan Transit Authority and Thruway Authority.)

Participating
Agency (PA)

I am an employee of a Participating Agency of New York State. This means my employer is a local government agency in New York State, which includes being an employee of a County, City, Town, Village, School District or other municipal entity.

Student Employee Health Plan (SEHP)

I am a Graduate Student enrolled in the Student Employee Health Plan (SEHP).

I am a retiree
